About this event
Please join the New York State Community Schools Network for the 7th annual New York State Community Schools Advocacy Day. This year, the event will take place virtually. The purpose of Community Schools Advocacy Day is to:
1. Advocate for the New York State Community Schools Network's FY23 Budget Priorities.
2. Inform the state legislature on the community schools strategy by highlighting local efforts and stories of impact across the state.
3. Strengthen the visibility and efforts of the New York State Community Schools Network as a statewide coalition.
Our goal is to support and advance the development of all local and statewide community school initiatives. Please join us on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 to advocate for our children, families, schools, and communities across New York State.
On Advocacy Day, you will have the opportunity to show your support for community schools by:
- Meeting with your legislators to discuss your community schools.
- Calling and/or emailing your representatives in the NYS Senate and Assembly.
- Joining us on Twitter using #NYSCommunitySchools.
- Participating in a legislative briefing on community schools.
Call scripts, email templates, and sample tweets will be provided to all registrants.
